Deep dive: AI practice

"Can I practice sales calls with AI?"

Yes, and for insurance agents it is the closest thing to live dials without burning leads. A real AI practice call is a voice conversation with a simulated prospect who interrupts, objects, and hangs up. A transcript chatbot does not count.

Why agents ask

Most agents have nobody to roleplay with, and reading scripts silently never survives a live prospect. The question behind the question is whether an AI can push back hard enough to matter. Generic sales roleplay tools were not built for insurance conversations.

The move, step by step

  1. 1. Insist on voice

To practice sales calls with AI in a way that transfers, it has to be spoken out loud, in real time, against a prospect who interrupts you. Typing rebuttals into a chat window trains typing.

  2. 2. Make it insurance specific

Generic roleplay tools handle a discovery call fine. What matters for agents is whether the prospect can raise a spouse stall, a health worry, or a final expense budget objection like your real dials do.

  3. 3. Test the free trial hard

Whatever tool you try, check four things: does it interrupt you, does it ever hang up, does it get harder as you improve, and does it know your product. If all four are no, it is a script reader.

  4. 4. Grade every rep

The call is half the practice. The other half is grading you did not write yourself: what you missed, where you rambled, and one thing to fix before the next attempt.

The mistakes that lose it

  • Judging a voice tool by its transcript. Listen to a call before you decide anything.
  • Practicing on easy mode forever. If the prospect never pushes back, you are rehearsing, not training.
  • Picking a generic B2B tool for insurance work. A demo coach cannot run a beneficiary conversation.
Reading the move is half the rep.

On RingReady you drill the calls these questions come from, out loud against AI prospects who object, stall, and hang up like real people, and a coach grades every attempt.
